Invisalign is a series of clear, removable trays that move your teeth in small steps. You wear each set for one to two weeks, then move to the next. Most people wear them 20 to 22 hours a day and take them out to eat, drink anything but water, and brush.

This is the part most pages skip. Invisalign is very good at a specific range of problems and mediocre at others.

Invisalign tends to be a strong fit for crowding, spacing and gaps, mild to moderate crossbite and overbite, relapse after previous orthodontic treatment, and adults who cannot have brackets showing at work.

Fixed braces are often the better tool for significant rotations, teeth that need to move a long distance vertically, severe bite discrepancies, and for patients who know themselves well enough to admit they will not wear a removable tray for 22 hours a day. Braces do not depend on compliance. That is their advantage.

Myobrace is a different category altogether. It is for growing children, and it targets the habits behind the crooked teeth, including mouth breathing, tongue posture, and swallowing pattern. If a child is the one who needs treatment, that conversation usually starts there rather than with aligners.

A consultation and records are needed to determine which of the three is right for you. We would rather tell you at the first visit that aligners are not the best option than take your case and give you a compromise.

Scan, plan, then trays every one to two weeks

Visit one. We take photos, a 3D scan, and the X-rays we need, including CBCT imaging when the bite or airway warrants it. We look at your jaw joints and how your teeth come together, not just how the front six look. Then we talk about options and cost before you commit to anything.

The plan. Your scan becomes a digital treatment plan showing the sequence of movements and the projected result. You see the simulation before we order a single tray. Projections are estimates, not guarantees, and biology varies from person to person.

Treatment. You get several sets of trays at a time and change them on a schedule we set. Most cases involve small tooth-colored attachments bonded to certain teeth to give the trays something to grip. Checkups every six to ten weeks, and most of them are short.

Timeline. Simple crowding or a minor relapse case often finishes in about four to six months. A comprehensive case usually runs 12 to 18 months. Some run longer. We will give you a range specific to your scan rather than a number off a brochure.

Does it hurt? The first two or three days on a new tray feel tight and a little sore, similar to pressure rather than sharp pain. That feeling fades. Most people find switching trays at night helps them sleep through the worst of it.

What Invisalign costs here, and how people pay for it

Clear aligner cost depends on how far your teeth have to travel. A limited case that moves a few front teeth costs meaningfully less than a full comprehensive case. We quote your exact fee after the scan, in writing, before treatment starts.
